We should demand the Germans, French, Italians, and
Japanese surrender their gold reserves to us for
helping them rebuild from the devastation of WW II.
Similarly we should demand the same from Russia for
helping them sustain their war effort at great
expense and danger.  Same could be asked of many
other nations who were either saved (India,
Australia, New Zealand, and UK) or liberated
(Indonesia, Philippines, Burma, Taiwan and China)
with American blood and treasure. Perhaps then we
could reconstruct the Bretton Woods system and bring
back stability.  With a unified economic system, we
could scale back our military forces and bring
sanity to the world again. The gold should be
entrusted to an international organization such as
the IMF so that one nation could not tap into it as
tax savings like We Americans did to weaken it and
eventually destroy it.

Hi

no one knows what the US really has in terms
of gold reserves. Do we have any?
What a story this is.
thanks again for your input,
BIll

I've said this before, and I'll say it again.
America's gold reserves are our National Treasure. The
great Gold Reserve was created when FDR confiscated
the gold from the American people.  It does not belong
to the politicians or the Fed.
