Dr. Copper’s wife I’m a little nervous about the newly revealed mega-long position in copper being held by JPM and therefore, controlled by Blythe Masters. Everyone was fearing a rogue trader? So what, we’re all relieved now? At least a rogue trader trying to corner a market wouldn’t purposely try to crash the market. Our understanding of JPM shows that’s exactly what they do or attempt to do on a regular basis. A copper ETF provides perfect cover for their position. Their position is seen as benign. I see a mega take down attempt coming before Christmas. There’s nothing that would please Blythe Masters more (IMHO) than to ruin all our Christmas. Hell hath no fury as a woman scorned (and we have been scorning her for a while now). Scenario, the week before Christmas: Dow 12,750, Gold $1,530., silver $33.80, copper 4.43. Commodity Indexes, HUI, oil, all up at frothy near term overbought levels. Traders and funds waiting to lock in maximum profits before New Year. JPM massively dumps copper in conjunction with their usual selling of gold and silver paper during a takedown. PPT pulls all support from DOW etc. Corresponding orchestrated dumping of commodities by connected players. Three day wipeout occurs. Temporary results: Copper at $2.85. Gold at $1,285., silver at $23.50 and corresponding crash of the commodity sector. Dow drops to 11,999 where the PPT steps in and it starts to rise again. Dollar adds 2 or 3 points to index. China thanks Uncle Sam and buys another big batch of U.S. bonds. Deflation scare is renewed. Shorts cover a large portion of their previously underwater positions and then go long. Yearly inflation numbers knocked to near zero. New Year begins and the Bull Market takes over. Please, someone dispel my fear. 12/3/2010

Good grief, JPM with so much copper why? Maybe to make up for present and future silver losses! Here is an alternate view; http://maxkeiser.com/2010/12/05/remember-that-naked-babe-in-the-hot-spring-holding-up-the-silver-coin-shes-back-with-a-cogent-analysis-of-jpms-recent-copper-corner/

The whole PM market is so tight now that it is about to explode to the upside. Watch it happen!!! Silver is in play and will take out the big money players. Joe M.

A major holder of warehouse stocks is obligated to lend or lease it out. So once JPM's copper etf is up and running I fully suspect that is just what they will do. Watch to see if they do paper shorts on copper before hand or during.

I was enjoying a comfortable evening, confident in gold and silver moves of late. Seems that all attempts to generate selling, like the one at 12:15 today in silver fail to gain traction. Then I read these last few posts and am disturbed by the conjecture on JPs positioning themselves in the copper market. In my naivete, I assumed it was simply to offset their exposure to the silver market. But the above posts suggest something possibly more sinister. I've never used sell stop orders in my 10 yrs. in the gold and silver markets, and as you might guess I have suffered thru a 2 1/2 year recovery. Most everything has recovered plus some by now, so no complaints, but what do you all think of stops? Hey, That's a cool picture of Bill hugging his ex wife isn't it? He looks like he was hugging Nadler. He is Da Man

RELAX. The fed led cartel is finished. Just waiting for the investors to ask for their physical gold and silver from the ETFS' , from a few of the fed led cartel members are in custody of . BOOM . Thereafter , every one just stops selling gold and silver in its possession . Hold onto your gold and silver . Thank you GATA . We are here , because of you , GATA .

Sorry dabug, that isn't how I see it. I see two loving partners (with mixed emotions) who raised a family through thick and thin but in the end there were too many wounds.
