America's biggest traitor might be the U.S. Government. They at the expense of American industry have sold out to the devil. That devil is the strong dollar policy. With it they have been able to continuously raise debt of the country and spend themselves into the poor house. With a strong dollar, imports remain high, dollars goto foreign countries and come back to fund the U.S. debt which the government spends. This is at the expense of U.S. manufacturing, industry and enterprise. Just my thoughts.

Mockan, is this for real. I CANT BELIEVE IT, but came from a "connected" source. Please kindly post in the Appendix, thanks much. Bill, I received the following message from an apparently connected source, and was wondering if you, GATA, or anyone has any input, and can cite a statue. I was planning this day on buying 31 x 1Kilo Au JM bars from Tulving, and this shocked me out of my chair. Can it be true? "Evidently, you are not aware that there is a new law in effect that makes it illegal to hold any precious metals, jewelry, cash, fire arms, etc. in a US bank safety deposit box. If and when the Feds make a spot check, as they surely would in your case, all the content of the box will be confiscated, and you will be subject to legal charges and a fine". Do any Cafe Members or GATA contributors have any input on this? Derrick

Circulating on internet are false rumors that Executive Order 6102 led to the seizure or freezing of safe deposit boxes in 1933. There are also falsified versions of the text of the order which imply that "Internal Revenue Service agents" managed this supposed freezing of safe deposit boxes. The actual text of the order which can be viewed in the PDF file below has no reference to IRS agents or safe deposit boxes. In actuality despite the threat of criminal prosecution no safe deposit boxes were forcibly searched under the order and the few prosecutions that occurred in the 1930s for gold hoarding were executed under different statutes. One of the few such cases occurred over two years later in 1936 when the safe deposit box of Zelik Josefowitz, who was not a U.S. citizen, containing over 10,000 ounces of gold was seized with a search warrant as part of a tax evasion prosecution.[3] In 1933 approximately 500 tonnes of gold were turned in to the Treasury voluntarily at the exchange rate of $20.67 per troy ounce.[4] It should be noted that even though the U.S. Treasury did not seize safe deposit box contents it nevertheless came into possession of a large number of them due to bank failures. During the 1930s over 3,000 banks failed and the contents of their safe deposit boxes were remanded to the custody of the Treasury. If no one claimed the box it remained in the possession of the Treasury. As of October, 1981, there were 1605 cardboard cartons in the basement of the Treasury each containing the contents of an unclaimed safe deposit box.[5] ============= Please pay close attention to this part of #283256's post: It would be highly recommended to remove any valuables from your box and keep only minimal cash in accounts so you can have maximum liquidity during the crisis and you can prevent the seizure of any gold/silver you may have. The seizure laws have been updated and integrated into Homeland Security so once the order is given you will only be able to access your safe deposit box in the presence of a Treasury or DHS official. That also means you may end up having any PM's in your safe deposit box confiscated (along with any loose cash) if you don't have receipts and/or can't prove where and when you got them. Beware! ===========

http://www.bankersonline.com/bankerstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1017 $199.00 Since the USA PATRIOT Act was enacted, many questions have been asked nationwide about how this new federal law impacts your safe deposit operation. This timely and comprehensive manual answers the following "Most Frequently Asked" compliance questions. Ask yourself: How does the PATRIOT Act affect your safe deposit operation? How are additional signers correctly added to existing contracts? When should a safe deposit "Suspicious Activity Report" be filed? Should a "Renter Disclosure Notice" be provided to all new renters? What type of CIP training is required for all safe deposit employees? What PATRIOT Act non-compliance penalties apply to safe deposit? What identification is required when a new safe deposit box is rented? If all new renters are not present, how are signatures added to a contract? How would our industry be disrupted if terrorists rented numerous boxes? What required information must be in your written policy and procedures? Why must your Box Rental Application contain a "Renter Disclosure Notice"? David P. McGuinn, President of Safe Deposit Specialists, has over 35 years of safe deposit experience and created this 80-page PATRIOT Act compliance manual. This publication contains specific information that answers all of your safe deposit questions regarding the USA PATRIOT Act. The manual has over fifteen sections that provide internal procedures to help you avoid significant regulatory penalties and reduce your potential liability and legal exposure.

The Biggest Traitor, hhhmmm, how about guy having an anti-gay preacher at the US prez inagural, or, new promises of increasing the US WAR machine by our dear CUT-AND-RUN to be pres? Who threw Rev Wright under the bus anyway? WOW, Anti-black extremist middle of the road guy, Anti-Gay theme, Military expansion, gggeeeezzzz who ran on that platform? I get confused. You make the call. We have to listen to the election crap for TWO long years with all the promises, and then, when it come time to rule, baby, ALL PROMISES are off, "its my kingdom now". Kabul, Afghanistan - At times in 2008 Afghanistan eclipsed Iraq in levels of violence, and international attention is returning to the country for the first time since 2001. With the Obama administration planning a massive troop increase, Afghanistan and Pakistan look to be at the center of the administration’s foreign policy for 2009. WHO IS THAT GUY we elected? run on the left/right, rule from center, the same old scam by the politicians.

The biggest traitors were in 1913 when they allowed The Fed to gain control of our money. Period. Nothing else even comes close. The Fed has raped every American born since then and debased the USD by 97%. This crisis we are in is a direct result of this fiat currency, now in its death throes. This year, we will see the end of the irredeemable dollar. Joe M.

I would for mulatiple reasons avoid safety deposit boxes. One of them being what happend in the UK. Scotland Yard raided 7000(!) boxes at 3 depots and and removed all contents. What was remarkable was that the individual box holders weren't necessarily under suspicion. The police simply did a blanket sweep covering all boxes just based on the suspicion that many of the boxes would have illegal items.
quote:
Although the operation is being treated as a money laundering investigation senior officers admitted that there was a potential to uncover a massive range of “ill-gotten gains” stored at the depots, including expensive jewellery, computer data, stolen artworks and sculptures. Some of the boxes are only A4-sized, while others are “walk-in” vaults. Although they do not know how many of the 7,000 boxes are being rented - at around £100-a-year - police suspect up to 90 per cent of them may hold criminal assets. Scotland Yard said that Met’s Specialist Crime Directorate raided seven properties: three safe depositories, an office and three residential addresses. Mr Yates said that detectives expect to seize a “substantial amount” of criminal assets from the searches. “Operation Rize is a money laundering investigation and is entirely unprecedented, one of the largest of its kind ever undertaken in the UK,” he said. “In the past safety deposit boxes have been searched on an individual basis often resulting in the recovery of guns, drugs and cash. We believe that this operation has the potential to impact upon many layers of serious crime.” The investigation - codenamed Operation Rize - has been running for two years and included intensive work with lawyers to ensure they were able to seize all of the boxes. Members of the public who have innocently and legally stored their valuables were “inevitably” going to get swept up in the disruption, it was predicted.
